THE REED FAMILY JOURNEY THROUGH ADOPTION

This blog is our way of communicating God's blessings with you throughout our adoption process. We can honestly say God has led us in this direction and we have never been more sure of anything. Of course we are scared, worried, anxious, and many other emotions. But, we do know that God's hand is in this!

You will find updates on our adoption process as well as the Reed's day to day activities. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as adoption is a long but rewarding process. God bless!

Sounds and Crowns

So, I sent in a request form to the Nashville Sounds for a donation for our silent auction. I really didn't think that they would consider our event. However, they suprisingly did and are donating a fan pack for the silent auction. How great is that!! Praise be to God. So, if you are not a fan of the Sounds you should be because they are helping out the community. Even the common folks like us:)

Also, I got to meet Mrs. USA today and she is going to be donating something as well. She may even get to come and eat that night depending on her schedule as we know she is super busy. She is from Sumner County and is a P.E. teacher like me. So, we got to compare notes today. Beautiful person both inside and out. We will keep our fingers crossed she can make it.

Adoption Conference

This past weekend we went to an Empowered to Connect conference in Nashville. The speaker was Dr. Karen Purvis who wrote "The Connected Child." This conference was put on with Shoshana's Hope which is Steven Curtis Chapman's adoption foundation. The conference was for adoptive families and those going through the process.

My brother, Matt, and sister-in-law, Keisha, came up to take us to this conference. They have and adopted child, Faith, from China. We all really received a blessing out of the material that was covered. Not sure about some of the research reports they went over though:)

The biggest blessing for us was hearing Regie Hamm speak. He was amazing! He has an adopted child from China that has Angelman's Syndrome. His testimony is about his ups and downs in his personal life as well as dealing with a child with disabilities. Check out his website. He wrote the song "Time of Your Life" that David Cooke sang.
