This past weekend we went to an Empowered to Connect conference in Nashville. The speaker was Dr. Karen Purvis who wrote "The Connected Child." This conference was put on with Shoshana's Hope which is Steven Curtis Chapman's adoption foundation. The conference was for adoptive families and those going through the process. My brother, Matt, and sister-in-law, Keisha, came up to take us to this conference. They have and adopted child, Faith, from China. We all really received a blessing out of the material that was covered. Not sure about some of the research reports they went over though:)
The biggest blessing for us was hearing Regie Hamm speak. He was amazing! He has an adopted child from China that has Angelman's Syndrome. His testimony is about his ups and downs in his personal life as well as dealing with a child with disabilities. Check out his website. He wrote the song "Time of Your Life" that David Cooke sang.
