THE REED FAMILY JOURNEY THROUGH ADOPTION

This blog is our way of communicating God's blessings with you throughout our adoption process. We can honestly say God has led us in this direction and we have never been more sure of anything. Of course we are scared, worried, anxious, and many other emotions. But, we do know that God's hand is in this!

You will find updates on our adoption process as well as the Reed's day to day activities. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as adoption is a long but rewarding process. God bless!

Joey

So, Meg is always doing a great job on the blog, but I never say much. When the adoption process started, everyone told us it was a roller coaster ride and I believed them. I never wanted to get too excited about it all because I was afraid the roller coaster would be too much for me to handle. But, at this time of year I am always excited. It is fall and basketball season is right around the corner. As I think about the next six months I can see even more things to be excited about.

Friday we actually get to do some paperwork towards our adoption. We will start on the home study process. Then we can start the wait for God to put the baby he has chosen for us in our lives. I am so excited for our family. I see how Meg's eyes light up when she talks about a baby. I see the excitement Dawson and Jordan have when we talk about adding to our family. As I prepare myself for the next six months I see that I have many blessings and many opportunities to be excited about. I love to coach basketball and share the game with the great players that I have. But, I also see how much I love my family and love that we are adding to the great life that Meg and I have. I will try to not put the blogging burden solely on Meg. I will not blog as much as she does, but I will contribute from time to time.

Adoption Update

Wow! It is getting close to time for our fundrasier. I can't believe it. This Friday we will be in Bowling Green, Kentucky for our orientation with Bethany Christian. We will receive our home study paperwork and hopefully by the end of October we will have that completed. We have already done all the training sessions with Bethany, so that is out of the way.

Don't forget October 12 from 4-9 pm at Jim N Nicks here in Murfreesboro is our silent auction and fundraiser dinner. 10% of all tickets turned in goes towards our adoption costs. You can also do carry out or drive thru. Just tell them to put it in our bucket. We will also be selling shirts that I can hopefully reveal the design of real soon.

Here are a few hints of silent auction items: Fleet Feet Sports basket, Race tickets, Kettlebell training for a month, Haircuts, Sounds basket, Country Ham basket, and the list goes on. See you there!!

On another note, I am halfway through my training for my 5k in November. It is for SIDS. I am feeling great and starting to really enjoy running. Hopefully I can continue this and do the 10k training program. We will see. Everyone have a great week.
